If a drain backs up again after cleaning, tell us how quickly the problem returned and which fixtures are affected. Recurring trouble may call for an evaluation of the accessible line, rather than simply repeating the same cleaning. The symptom alone does not tell us whether the cause is buildup, roots or a damaged pipe.
Snaking uses a mechanical cable and cleaning tool to work through a blockage. Hydro jetting uses pressurized water to remove buildup such as grease and sludge. The appropriate method depends on the problem, access and pipe condition. We can discuss the next step after evaluating your situation; neither method is a repair for a broken pipe. Cleaning and evaluation do not guarantee that a line will never clog again.
A camera evaluation can be useful when backups recur, the cause remains unclear or a repair decision needs better information. A camera is not automatically the first step for every clog. Blockages, standing water and limited access can restrict what can be seen, and cleaning or another access step may be needed before a useful inspection is possible.
