When a Sewer Camera Evaluation Can Help
Recurring clogs, slow drainage, sewer odors or previous backups can be reasons to discuss an evaluation. Tell us what has happened, which fixtures are affected and whether the line has been cleaned or repaired before.
A camera evaluation helps assess observable line conditions. It does not automatically result in a repair recommendation or guarantee that future problems will be prevented.

What happens during a sewer camera evaluation?
We start with the problem history and available access to the sanitary sewer line. A camera evaluation examines the portions of pipe that can be reached and viewed. Visible findings, such as roots, buildup or damaged joints, help guide a discussion about cleaning, repair or further evaluation.

What are the limits of a camera inspection?
A camera shows the inside surfaces visible during the inspection. Access restrictions, bends, blockages, standing water or debris can limit the view or how far the camera travels. An incomplete view should not be treated as confirmation that the unseen section is clear or undamaged.
An evaluation does not guarantee future performance or establish the condition of every concealed part of the system. If cleaning or additional access is needed to obtain useful information, that next step should be discussed before assuming the inspection is complete.
What happens after a problem is found?
The next step depends on the findings and the inspection’s limits. It may involve drain or sewer cleaning, a discussion of sewer repair, or further evaluation. Ask what was observed, which portions could not be checked, and what the proposed work is intended to address. Any cleaning or repair scope should be clear before it is authorized.
Is this the same as a sump discharge line evaluation?
